Had trouble balancing. They looked good and tread wear excellent. Started dry rot at 3 years old. Would not buy again.
I have 35,000 miles on my set (70% highway) and only 4/32 tread (just measured today at a tire shop). They ride well and have performed well until this past winter when the loss of traction was very noticeable. I would buy them again with the expectation that they will need to be replaced again at 35,000 - 40,000 miles.
I drive my GMC canyon diesel 200 miles a day to work. The original Goodyear's lasted 58,000. I put these Defender LTX's on and currently have 102,000 on them. In the next 5,000 I will be replacing them with a brand new set of Defender's. Outstanding in all weather, great ride and no noise!
dear sirs I have had 2 sets of Defenders. they are the best wet/snow tire I have ever had. very sticky feeling. but do seam to have shorter life. Trade off is worth it.
These tires were great when new but wore out quickly compared to the previous set. I wouldn’t waste money on them again.
Very nice overall tire!!!! Would purchase these tires again.
I have over 180k on this Dakota and put on my latest set of Michelin LTX M&S (now Defender LTX). First set of GY went 20k and each set of Michelin have gone over 50k. Most of my driving is around town with some hiway. But I also get into the woods in the fall and have no problems on snow. Best tire I've ever used!
I have 69,000 miles on these tires!
I presently have Goodyear tires on my truck with no trouble so far with 24000 miles . I have a preference of Mitchelem tires from past experience On my previous vehicle I didn’t worry about my tires until it reached at least 40000 miles with no trouble.
I expected more from this tire. The tread is wearing quicker than thought and I had a front tire blow out on a gravel road The road was graded but it hit a sharp rock and had a huge hole right through. Wow! Thankfully the Tahoe picked up the blow out and alerted me to pull over. I’m generally happy with Michelin so maybe this doesn’t happen that often.
Fantastic tires perform excellent in the snow! Tread wear is exceptional, but these tires will dry rot before the tread wears off. My second set with dry rot, and splits and still have plenty of tread left. Last a long time. Road noise minimal and ride is fantastic.
Currently at 63,000 miles on set of 4. Quiet tire with excellent stability at highway speeds.
I have had these tires on every truck I have ever owned (4) and lived in Lake Tahoe, Anchorage and Vail, best Mud & Snow tire and drives like a Mercedes on the highway... Highly tested and recommended
Changed factory GY tires after just 32,000 miles. Have had these for a few months now and couldn't be happier. Traction is outstanding in wet, snow & ice. Not loud on the hwy and gas mileage seems about the same. Worth the extra $ in my opinion.
Like just about all tires, good when new. 70k miles tires should not be on the label. My tires are rotated at every 5k miles when I get my oil change. So far at 25k, it's already down to 50%. 12/32 was new and now 6/32 tread left. This is probably a 50k tire, not 70k. Who knows, maybe someone else can get 70k. Other than tire wore a little quicker than expected, it's a superior tire at new.
really very good
Excellent
